A lovely crescent shaped ironstone dish with a brown floral transferware motif and a gilded rim. This dish dates from between approximately 1896 to 1907.
These were originally used for depositing bones during a meal. They fit neatly beside a dinner plate. Today, these make lovely catchall dishes or elegant soap dishes.

As found, in lovely vintage condition with patina including some crazing and loss of gold gilding that runs around the rim.
