A beautiful, rare to find, blue and white floral transferware dinner plate with a gently scalloped edge in the art nouveau style. Made by Josef Ekberg for Gustavsberg Pottery in Sweden.
Circa 1908-1911.
A fabulous piece to add to a transferware collection. Lovely addition to a plate wall.
Marked on base: Gustafsberg / Blenda / 33N imprinted. From 1825-1920 Gustafsberg was spelled with an 'F' and later was spelled with a 'V' (Gustavsberg). The anchor mark was introduced in 1839.
This plate can be seen in the National Museum of Sweden's online collection. You can see it here.
9.75" diameter
As found, in lovely condition with light crazing commensurate with age.
