antique Majolica match holder and striker

Beautiful 19th century antique Majolica match holder and striker. A rare find. 

The holder is ribbed for lighting strike-anywhere matches, the bottom tray is for the spent sticks. The base is colored with a deep Indigo blue, creamy yellow and brown mottled tortoiseshell glazing, a light creamy yellow rims the striking area and the interior of the holder is lavender pink.

3.5" tall, 1.5" diameter opening and 4.5" diameter base.

As found, In lovely antique condition. There is a faint hairline mark on the glaze of the base that is old and appears to be superficial. Some light crazing on bottom tray.
