A beautiful late Victorian Etruscan style Majolica leaf dish. Begonia leaf design in rich jewel like glaze tones of emerald green, teal and brown. This botanical leaf plate is full of detailed texture and colours that fan out in an ombre like effect.

Marked with what appears to be a date cypher of two circles. Likely dates to mid to late 19th century.
As found, in lovely antique condition full of patina from age and use. The back is brown with some crazing. There is a very old, almost original looking hairline mark in the glaze on the back of the dish and areas of wear around the detailed edge of the dish. This is typical of the age of these dishes.
