A lovely piece of English teal transferware from the late Victorian era made by J & G Meakin pottery in Hanley, England. A hand-gilded scalloped rim, delicate floral and scroll motifs that extend across the exterior. This charming dish is well over a century old, dating from 1890 -1910.
Originally used as a serving dish, this 130+ year-old dish transitions seamlessly to contemporary use—ideal for bread, tabletop display, or as a functional catchall.
9.5" x 7.5"
Marked on base: Sèvres / Hanley, England / J&G Meakin with number 2 embossed.
As found, in lovely condition for age and use. Some minor wear as shown in photos including some crazing and wear around outer rim and of gilding.
