Antique Adams Tokio pattern Chinoiserie bowl, a blue and white transferware piece made by William Adams & Sons in Tunstall, England depicts Japanese women in a traditional scenic garden setting with a decorative geometric/floral interior rim border.

6" diameter / 3.5" tall

This is perfect as a styling piece resting on a set of books or shelf, and is useful as a catchall dish in an entryway, or gifted with a small houseplant such as a fern or filled with decorative soaps or even edible treats.

The origin of William Adams Pottery has a long standing history over several hundred years and was eventually acquired by the Wedgwood Group in 1966.

Marked on base: Tokio/Est 1667/Adams/Tunstall England / RN 684663

Condition: In good vintage condition with patina including one small chip on one side of rim and another older larger glaze chip (where a piece of the glaze has broken away exposing the earthenware beneath). Light staining and wear on interior. The three round dots/marks on interior and base are from the firing process where the bowl was placed on stilts in the kiln.

The Registration number 684663 on this bowl dates the pattern to 1920-1921.
